Recently, two websites were taken down for illegally distributing the beta versions of iOS 16, iPadOS16, macOS Ventura, etc.
The reported websites were betaprofiles.com and ipsw.dev. BetaProfile claimed that they are shutting down the website because they do not want to get in trouble and face lawsuits filed against them by Apple. Meanwhile, there is no official response from ipsw.dev and we could expect them to give one, although both the sites have been forcibly shut down.
Apple is against those who illegally distribute their software around the globe. Many tweets were also removed by Twitter according to Digital Millenium Copyright Act for distributing paid content illegally for free. Apple always asks its developers to apply for the Developer Program before downloading their beta versions of software legally.
Many users have also criticised the tech-giant stating that the Apple Developer Program should only be mandatory for publishing Apps to the App Store.
