The best gaming laptops which can fit your budget.

Today’s best gaming laptops go head-to-head with PCs, and with each new mobile chip and graphics card, the performance gap is closing even further. That makes these clamshell powerhouses the ideal PCs for those who want to enjoy gaming on the go while still having the full fun at home. Configurations have risen to the heights of the RTX 3080 Ti, but there are still plenty of high-performance machines in the more affordable range. Whether you’re looking for a turbocharged beast or something to tinker with a few indie games Even if you are, these days there is something for everyone.

Our favourite machine, however, makes up for its raw power with value for money. That said, some of the best gaming laptops don’t run the most impressive graphics cards or have tons of RAM. If you don’t want a full vocal rig, why pay for it?

Pace a variety of gaming laptops to find the best machine in the business, testing performance, design and thermal efficiency, and overall cost-effectiveness relative to the specs offered. We run a series of performance benchmarks on each machine to live, play, and use models tested over time. You can read exactly how to test gaming laptops in our dedicated guide. Below you’ll find all our recommendations for the best gaming laptops, along with detailed information to help you choose the right configuration for you and your budget.

The world of gaming laptops (and gaming PCs in general) is changing rapidly as Intel’s Alder Lake processors hit some of the biggest models and new GPU options are also eyeing.

For the year 2022, the best gaming laptop is Razer Blade 15. It has one of the best performances in the world. The device has been used by many game streamers as it has one of the latest chips by Intel.

Advantages and Disadvantages

We got our hands on the Razer Blade 15 beast, and it showed us just how capable gaming laptops can be these days. The RTX 3080 Ti / i9-12900H configuration was a true monster in its performance. This rig’s ability to deliver this kind of performance while maintaining the slim chassis we all know and love solidifies its position among the best gaming laptops.

Of course, this is not a cheap machine. The 2022 Razer Blade 15 starts at $2,499.99 with the RTX 3060 configuration. You’re certainly paying for this extravagant name here, but if you’re looking for one of the most technically capable machines in one of the most portable form factors, it is money well spent.

So this isn’t necessarily the best gaming laptop for everyone. Light gamers won’t need the horsepower offered here. However, if you’re interested in a top-of-the-line rig (and have the budget to toss it), the testing speaks for itself.

We set everything to 11 here and were able to run Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 74 fps in 4K. More demanding titles still struggled at this UHD resolution, but we were impressed with Red Dead Redemption 2’s 60+ fps at 1440p and The Division 2’s 78 fps at the same resolution. All we had to do was omit some of the more demanding visual effects to achieve higher frame rates in 4K.

The Razer Blade 15 is unrivalled in performance, horsepower and portability. Finally, the only other machine to offer an RTX 3080 Ti graphics card at the time of writing is not priced to match this 4K 144Hz display.

Incredible performanceCheaper plastic body
Satisfying keyboardDifficult to transport

Some premium design features
Advantages and Disadvantages

The Alienware M15 R7 has arrived to bring the mid-range line of luxury laptops available today to the 2022 standard. With Intel’s new 12th Gen processors and Nvidia’s Ti GPU on top, you’ll get some decent performance. While the price seems a little higher than its predecessor (especially now that there are many discounts on older models), you’re getting enough new tech under the hood to justify the luxury.

We were overwhelmed by the performance of this machine. Powered by an i7-12700H processor and an RTX 3070 Ti graphics card, our review unit passed benchmarks and stress tests with ease. This beast didn’t falter even with heavier titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Metro Exodus. We scored up to 76 FPS on RDR2’s Ultra settings and 72 fps on his RTX on Metro Exodus Max. These are the settings that will make the pricey RTX 3080 Ti Razer Blade 15 sweat.

This machine is designed purely for performance. It has a solid design and is particularly heavy. The loading stone alone extends almost the entire length of the keyboard. This is not going to be the gaming laptop that can easily be tossed into a backpack. Fans will certainly scream, but those sacrifices are easy to make if you are looking for an all-rounder that can compete with much more expensive machines.

Alienware is still a luxury brand. With the M-series currently in the middle of that range, the Alienware M15 R7 is affordable by brand standards. But you can’t talk without Alienware’s lineage. However, with performance that rivals the best gaming laptops in the business, and affordability at a small sacrifice, it’s a great option for most gamers. The X15 is the best Alienware gaming on a paper-alone laptop, but when it comes to price and the wider market, this is the winner.

ProsCons
Solid performanceGets hot under duress
Sensibly pricedThe chassis is a bit lacking
More powerful configurations are now available
Advantages and Disadvantages

The Dell G15 won’t set the world of top gaming laptops on fire, but at least it’s a reliable choice for a gaming companion. Both gaming and general task performance are excellent considering the price, and all the features you’d expect from a gaming laptop are present and compliant – aside from the steep price tag. Models often sell for under $1,000 with RTX 3050 / RTX 3050 Ti graphics cards.

The look of this laptop could be a point of contention, though, as the chassis turned out to feel a little dated for 2022. The dark iridescent finish and thick centre hinge make it forgettable. It feels like a throwback to the days of old engineering design.

Even in graphically demanding titles, the G15 gets hot, but not surprisingly. We’ve certainly tested laptops with bigger fans than this, and on the face of it, the G15 is a great all-rounder, for a kid just getting started with PC gaming or an office destined to work and play remotely. Ideal as a gift for your workers.

ProsCons
Clean and compact designPoor thermals
Gorgeous 16:10 displayRay tracing heavily impacts performance
High-quality speakers
Speedy processor
Advantages and Disadvantages

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 has long ruled the world of thin gaming laptops. It is one of the first portable devices built with a form factor for backpacks and desktops. 2022 heralds the future of this fan-favourite new AMD, and the G14 is even more impressive despite thermal concerns and ray tracing throttling.

This packs a lot of power into this ultra-small form factor, and we were able to squeeze impressive numbers out of this compact design as well. It feels built for 1080p (the frame rate cliff jumps at the native QHD+ resolution), but Fire Strike and in-game benchmarks gave excellent results considering the stress this machine is under. rice field. Metro Exodus flew at high settings and consistently achieved 82 fps, while Division 2 was able to maintain 78 FPS even at ultra settings.

However, you should keep this on your desk and not on your lap, as we know that it heats up under heavy loads. However, not many 14-inch rigs can accommodate these specs, and even fewer can use the extra screen real estate specified here.

ProsCons
Top-notch gaming performanceParticularly expensive
Gorgeous 17.3-inch displayDismal battery life
Good for content creationToo heavy to easily carry
Stylish and robust chassis
Advantages and Disadvantages

The 2022 Razer Blade 17 has arrived. This means that a new beast has appeared in town. This is especially impressive. Don’t get us wrong, this is an expensive kit. The i7-12800H/RTX 3080 Ti model we tested costs around $2,800, but if you’re into gaming and content creation powerhouses, this is the best 17.3-inch in the business. Yes, here is the Razer tax. You can find a budget machine that packs in similar specs for slightly less (although not a dramatic amount), but in return, you get a durable, quality car with good engineering under the hood. Invest in kits.

For example, we were particularly impressed with the placement of the 8 speakers. There’s so much power behind those grills that while gaming he didn’t feel the need to wear a headset. Likewise, the extended display doesn’t lose sharpness or colour reproduction like many wider models. We found the screen very impressive and would happily recommend it for more artistic purposes. The Razer Blade 17 adds modern ports, classic Razer aesthetics and a wide selection of clean, tactile glass touchpads that feel like they can handle it all. The machine topped benchmarks like a calculator, delivering an impressive Fire Strike score of 25,484 and a lightning-fast Time Spy result of 12,244 when stressed. The actual game results were equally astonishing. Total War: Three Kingdoms ran buttery smooth at 98 fps on High settings, and Red Dead Redemption 2 kept him running at 90 fps when launched on Ultra.

The only problem we encountered in testing was a standard problem with large gaming laptops. That meant short battery life and a lack of portability. Of course, if you’re looking for a bigger machine, you’ve already adjusted for these facts. The Razer Blade 17 is the best 17-inch gaming laptop.

Specifications
ProsCons
Great pricingSoft membrane keys
Slimline design
Solid performance
Advantages and Disadvantages

If you’re looking for an RTX 30-series card but don’t want to go over $1,500, the Asus TUF Dash F15 is a great choice. Our tests show that this budget machine can handle more demanding titles as if they were at a much higher price point, despite the weak top-end 4-core i7-11370H processor. Additionally, you will still get the ultra-slim form factor that’s proven so popular over the last few years.

The key here is the availability of a full turbo-powered 11th Gen i7/1TB/32GB RAM suite. Or you can buy a more modest spec for a little less. That means you don’t have to spend on high-end equipment that you won’t even use when running demanding titles.

We were particularly impressed with how well these performance-hungry components worked in an inexpensive chassis. We didn’t notice any overheating issues here. Some sacrifices had to be made with the more demanding titles but we were still able to consistently hit 60 FPS+ on the RTX 3070. We also tested the RTX 3060 unit and found A similar level of performance was found. We also pulled a few sliders down a bit and it fell on all ends of the budget here.

PriceStarting at $3,199
Specifications
ProsCons
Impeccable gaming performanceNo webcam
Handsome gamer aesthetic & beautiful RGBNot very portable
Very cool and quiet under loadWeak battery life
Advantages and Disadvantages

Currently our top pick for the best Asus gaming laptops, the Asus Strix Scar 17 SE is one of the fastest devices money can buy. Powered by i9-12950HX, this laptop beast chews through tasks like cutting butter with a knife. Add its blazingly fast 2TB NVMe SSD with reading speeds approaching 7000MB, and its top wattage NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3080Ti, and the Scar 17 SE runs games smoothly without issue.

With the Scar 17 SE, Asus has designed everything for top performance. The use of a liquid metal thermal compound and an improved vapour chamber design result in a cooler, quieter experience under load. The Scar 17 SE is one of the quietest gaming laptops we’ve tested, but with Turbo mode selected, it can roar. You can choose one of the 3ms displays. The former is suitable for eSports and competitive gamers, while the latter is aimed at others who want a serious gaming experience.

The Scar 17 SE has several ports conveniently located on the back of the laptop, including HDMI 2.1 and ThunderBolt 4. However, no webcam is unacceptable in 2022, but if you can live without it, this is the best gaming laptop you can get.

8. Alienware x14 (2022)

PriceStarting at $1,400
Specifications
ProsCons
Super slimline form factorLimited configurations available
Impressive performanceIncreased depth leaves a larger footprint
More affordable than other Alienware rigsThe matte display can dull colours
Sleek aesthetic
Advantages and Disadvantages

The Alienware x14 is the thinnest laptop we’ve ever used at our desks, and we’re happy with its performance compared to the low-mid components under the hood. Of course, Intel’s latest 12th Gen processors help these RTX 3050 or RTX 3060 graphics cards (as well as DDR5 RAM), but all those specs together make it silky smooth for even more demanding titles.

We found the overall build quality to be particularly impressive here, and with the scaled-down x14, the Alienware x17 is very robust At just 14.4mm thick, you’d think it’d be a sleek business ultrabook if it wasn’t for the glowing RGB alien head on top.

There are certainly some serious gaming chops under the hood. Of course, our tests didn’t give numbers that would threaten an RTX 3070 or RTX 3080-equipped machine, but considering the Nvidia-optimized Shadow of the Tomb Raider averaged 108 fps on the highest settings. And there’s a lot to expect. Do not enter here. The Alienware x14 struggled with heavy titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 but was still able to pull out 55 FPS on high settings.

However, it quickly became apparent during testing that the RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti configurations offered the best price/performance ratio here. Considering the unit hit the $1,400 price tag, We were a little disappointed with the 1080p, 144 Hz display. By contrast, this is a passable screen when placed on the RTX 3050 rig. It feels like the yield is dropping higher on the price scale here.

However, if you’re looking for a very slim and portable device, the Alienware x14 is a great premium option. In addition to providing a backpack-friendly form factor, USB-C charging makes charging on the go super easy.

PriceStarting at $2,000
Specifications
ProsCons
Great componentsA little small
Tangible benefits of a Ryzen CPU Temperature can climb
Excellent compact build quality
Advantages and Disadvantages

The Razer Blade 14 pitched the idea of a small 14-inch gaming powerhouse in last year’s test. With some of the most powerful components on the market and an almost unbelievably slim form factor, this is a rig to consider and the best 14-inch gaming laptop to date. That’s because AMD CPUs and Nvidia GPUs work well together to produce an incredible end experience, combining the best of both worlds here.

The 1440p display and RTX 3080 GPU sang in our tests, surprising us with impressive handling at high and ultra settings in a variety of games. We were particularly impressed with how much power was available.

The 14-inch form factor makes the performance on offer even more impressive, but we found ourselves in need of a slightly larger screen at certain moments. Still, we liked the 1440p/165Hz pairing on display, and we doubt that this device would benefit from an expensive 300Hz panel. We were able to achieve a fairly consistent 60 FPS.

Metro Exodus was more challenging (usually hitting 48 FPS on RTX Ultra settings), but with some tweaks, it now hits 66 FPS on high. This means that you can easily get a better response in the Razer Blade 14 than in the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. However, this is certainly a model for those who are willing to pay for this premium quality.

PriceStarting at $830
Specifications
ProsCons
Good gaming performance at 1080pBattery life is quite poor
Solid chassis and keyboardDisplay is unexciting
Advantages and Disadvantages

It’s not about blowing anyone away with flashy features or top-notch performance, but the Acer Nitro 5 is a very respectable gaming laptop for busy gamers who don’t want to break the bank. A great full keyboard with a numeric keypad makes this laptop suitable for both work and play. That said, it is a great alternative to full-tower desktops for the home and also offers portability as it is relatively lightweight compared to gaming laptops.

The RTX 3060 GPU paired with the Ryzen 5800H processor delivered a strong performance in our tests, hitting 86 FPS on Division 2’s high settings and dropping to 77 FPS on Ultra. An SSD might be a little faster, but it shouldn’t be a big deal. Most games run at 60+ FPS at maximum settings, and ray tracing is an option, but with an associated performance hit.

The laptop has a slightly dull screen compared to other laptops in the same price range, and battery life is decidedly unimpressive, but given the budget cost, these seem like a fair compromise. Especially since the display maintains an excellent 144Hz refresh rate. At $830, the RTX 3060 Nitro 5 can pack some impressive components at an affordable price without sacrificing great features. It is perfect for those who want pristine performance without all the fancy extras that can skyrocket the cost of a gaming laptop.

Why Gaming Laptops Are Necessary?

Gaming Laptops are portable devices which you can use anywhere, whether you are indoors or outdoors. They have the best processor like Intel and AMD and are equipped with advanced features. They are very fast and do not overheat too early. They have better display graphics than that Macs or low-end PCs.
